Aberdeen Saints' Santa float raises funds for local charity

On Sunday evening 18 December, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, North Anderson Drive, Aberdeen, a cheque for £1,221.51 was presented by John W Sinclair in behalf of the Bridge of Don congregation, to Catherine Ross, a fundraiser for Erskine - which provides nursing and medical care for former members of the armed forces.

The money was collected from residents in Danestone during three days when Santa and his helpers paraded through the Danestone housing scheme in Aberdeen. Also at the presentation was James R Dressel, who was responsible for organising the first charitable Santa collection 15 years ago, which has become an annual event.
