An extensive set of Welfare and Self Reliance resources of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints available for 40 European countries can now be found on a single website: www.LifeHelpEurope.org.
From this landing page, Church members and friends can access with a single click the Church's resources - in their native languages - and find information and training on education, career development, mental and emotional health, humanitarian service, starting a business, life planning, emergency preparedness and much more.
Why is a single site needed for all these resources? 'It simplifies the formerly difficult process of finding them,' says Ether Simoncini, the Church's Welfare and Self-Reliance Area Field Operations Manager for Italy, Adriatic North and Eurasia.
The Church, he says, has developed and refined these resources over decades. Many were developed independent of each other, by different Church departments. They reside on multiple websites. Add to all that the multiple countries and languages of Europe, and finding the exact resource one needed in one's own language could be complicated and frustrating. 'As soon as we trained (people) how to find them, they forgot,' Simoncini smiles.
The Welfare and Self Reliance Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is now getting the word out on www.LifeHelpEurope.org. 'We're training our leaders, it's a signature on our emails, it's a QR code on business cards - but we still need to do more,' says Simoncini with enthusiasm.
'Life Help' is a term used by the Church to encompass all the benefits its Welfare & Self-Reliance resources offer. Simoncini notes, 'So the web address is a perfect fit.'
