When members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Banbury, Oxfordshire, became aware that the local Foodbank was short of instant mashed potato, they immediately launched an appeal amongst members and friends. In just two weeks 680 portions of mashed potato were gathered and donated to the Banbury Foodbank.

Dawn Clayton, a local member, was excited to be involved in the project, she said, “I think it's really good to be able to collect instant mashed potato for the Foodbank as it is a store cupboard staple, which doesn't cost a lot of money and is easy for people to make”.
Bishop Joseph Gedge, the local leader of the Church said, "Our congregation is pleased to have been able to help Banbury Foodbank in their great efforts to bless the local community. Members of the church take to heart the mission of helping people in need. As with other small acts of service, we find that we too benefit as we serve others."
