Missions in the United Kingdom Give Significant Service To The Royal British Legion

by David Eaton

Last year Latter-day Saint Missionaries serving in the United Kingdom gave significant service to the Royal British Legion Poppy-Day Appeal.

Christine Chatfield, National Fundraising Manager for the Royal British Legion, praised the work these young missionaries did:

“They were amazing, we are so grateful to them; we couldn’t have raised the amounts we did in those areas if it wasn’t for those young missionaries.”

In one area alone in Birmingham, where missionaries were prominently helpful, a figure of £28,000 was raised.

President Mark Leppard, President of the Birmingham England Mission said:

"128 Elders and 62 Sisters x 7 hours x 2 Weeks = 2660 hours !!!”

Lets see what they do this year!
