When the pageant, the first British Pageant in the modern era, was first performed in 2013 there was no announcement of a regular performance cycle. The upcoming pageant dates are the first performances announced since the pageant began. The pageant tells the stories of the early Saints in the British Isles and their migration to the United States in the 1800s using journals, sermons and historic records from the time period.
“We are pleased that the pageant is returning to tell the stories of those early pioneers in the British Isles,” said Elder Patrick Kearon, Europe Area President of the Church. “This pageant will bring to life a history that many people, even church members, are not familiar with. A story of those who sought truth and stayed true to what they knew.”
Hundreds of members and volunteers will be needed to help bring Church history in the British Isles to life through song and dance. Further announcements will extend invitations for individuals and families to audition for roles and parts in the cast. Members from varying backgrounds will be needed in many supporting areas needed for pageant production, such as costuming and hosting.
