As part of the commemoration, Bishop David Lawrance, the local leader of the Church, will attend the Remembrance Day service with civic dignitaries and town leaders. He will also lay a wreath at the cenotaph outside the Chesterfield Town Hall. Following the services, Bishop Lawrance will attend a reception with Toby Perkins Member of Parliament for Chesterfield, Town Councillors and town leaders at the Town Hall.
Bishop Lawrance commented “As followers of Jesus Christ we believe that we are our brother’s keeper. The Poppy Appeal is one way to support those who served to protect the freedom of this land, which allows us all to worship in the way that we choose.”
