About 100 women from congregations around the UK met at the Hyde Park Chapel on Exhibition Road, London of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, 13th Feb 2016 to participate in the launch of the first ever LDS Women's Forum, a sub-chapter of the BYU Management Society -UK Chapter (and LDS business Forum). From all walks of life, LDS and non-members alike listened to an introduction from Chapter President Barbara Frimpong and a panel addressing women's issues and questions, along with presentations, a ‘get-to-know-you’ session and lunch.
The LDSWF was formed from the BYUMS-UK Chapter and Greater London LDS Business Forum to further the recent challenge of President Russell M Nelson at General Conference last October echoing Elder Boyd K Packer’s comment, “We need women who are organized and women who can organize. We need women with executive ability who can plan and direct and administer; women who can teach, women who can speak out. …We need women with the gift of discernment who can view the trends in the world and detect those that, however popular, are shallow or dangerous.”
