Glasgow Mormons Help Local Cats Charity

On Saturday 7 May members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire gave up their time to help at Cats Protection’s Glasgow Adoption Centre. The centre cares for up to 200 cats, in need of a new home, at any time.

Latter-Day Saints of all ages came together to make a difference at the centre.  They transformed the memorial garden into a beautiful tranquil haven and painted the gable end of the cattery. John Gallacher from Dumbarton remarked, “Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints often come together to help others through service projects such as our Helping Hands project. We offer community service and acts of compassion and we had a lovely morning helping at the centre. We were delighted to be able to make a difference.”

Andy Currie, Manager at Cats Protection’s Glasgow Adoption Centre, near Lenzie, said, “We had been in need of some help around the grounds for a long time. We were delighted when the Helping Hands team of adults and children came along. We loved having them at the Adoption Centre and hope they’ll come again.”
