On this day of International Holocaust Remembrance, we join millions around the world in solemnity. We honour those who survived the horrors of the Holocaust; we mourn those who perished and loved ones affected by their deaths; and, we stand in remembrance with our Jewish brothers and sisters around the world.
Unfortunately, we read troubling reports of antisemitism, Holocaust denial, and physical and emotional harassment directed toward Jewish people. As children of God, it is our collective responsibility to treat each other with love and kindness and to stand against all forms of discrimination.
We, therefore, invite all to reflect on the implications of the Holocaust, to pray for the well-being of all of God’s children, and to stand against all forms of discrimination.
