Louise Haigh, MP, visits 'the Wizard of Oz'

Louise Haigh, MP for Sheffield Heeley, the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield and Jim Phipps the Co Chairman of Sheffield United Football club accepted a VIP invitation to see The Wizard of Oz at the weekend. 

The production of four performances by over sixty members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aged between 6 years old and 60+ in their Jordanthorpe Chapel, all amateur volunteers who have enjoyed the last year rehearsing and preparing for the event. 

After the show Jim commented "It was awesome! A superlative performance a lot more than I expected....young Dorothy was just amazing. The whole cast was great, the orchestra was beyond any expectation. You have something special here in Sheffield".

The show gave the VIPs chance to meet with members, cast and church leaders to discuss the work of the church locally, Mark Dundon who is a lay minister supporting ten congregations throughout the Sheffield City region commented, "As followers of Jesus Christ a core belief of church members is that families can be forever, this show has also helped families be together and work together it’s been such a lot of fun for everyone."
