Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who are serving in the Coventry area, got together to help Santa Claus as he toured the streets of Earlsdon, Coventry, collecting money for local charities. The missionaries who helped were from all corners of the world, including Arizona, USA, Mexico City, Stockholm, Idaho, USA, Vancouver, Canada, Brazil and Seattle USA.

The Santa Sleigh event was organised by the five Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Coventry and the moneycollected on the night was destined for Myton Hospice and the Warwickshire Air Ambulance.
The missionaries, who are normally engaged in teaching people about Jesus Christ, are also encouraged to serve within their local communities. Sister Romo from Mexico City, Mexico said, “I have never done anything like this before. Helping others in this way was a great way to feel the Spirit of Christmas.”
Bishop Craig White, the leader of the Church in the Coventry area said, “I couldn't think of a better way to spend an evening, in the company of Santa and Tinkerbell, walking the streets of Coventry with friends from the church and the Rotary Club raising money for worthy causes. The word "Rotary" unlocks a wonderful generosity in many and to be able to help raise funds with them is a fantastic way to 'light the world".
