On Sunday 8th June 2014, Alan Puckrin was called as Bishop of the Bangor 1st congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Roger Whittaker and Simon Noble were called to be his counsellors.

He further expressed his gratitude to his wife Gail for her support and to their two sons.

During the service, President James McCrudden, President of the Church in Northern Ireland, thanked the outgoing bishop, Ben Noble and his counsellors, for the work they have done over the past 5 years.
