On August 2nd Ben Twigger, 29 years of age, married with three young children and a Geologist with BP Exploration in the North Sea, became the new Bishop (local Church leader) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Bridge of Don congregation in Aberdeen. Bishop Twigger received a Masters’ Degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and enjoys hiking, cycling and rowing, having previously been a member of his university rowing team.

The Church has no paid clergy and Bishop Twigger along with his two counsellors, Jared Dempsey, an Industrial Psychologist, married with 4 children and Ryan Wark who works for Scottish Gas, married with 2 children, will be responsible for over a hundred members in the congregation. All three leaders served full-time missions for the Church in Leeds, France and Canada at age 19 years.
Bishop Twigger said the name of the Church spells out exactly who we worship, we focus on strengthening families, as strong families lead to a happy community.
