New Church Leaders for Maidstone

Over 500 members and invited guests including The Mayor Elect of Maidstone, Derek Butler and his wife, Mary, were in attendance at the Maidstone Chapel on Sunday 15th May to witness the calling of a new Stake Presidency (regional Church leaders).

Christopher Turner and his counsellors Stephen Baldock and David Silsby were released after nearly 9 years of faithful service.

Stephen Baldock was then called to serve as the new Stake President of the Maidstone Stake along with Leighton Bascom and Adam Hawkins as counsellors.

Stephen Baldock 53, UK Sales Director for an Italian company from the Tunbridge Wells Ward is married to Caron and they are the parents of 4 children.

Leighton Bascom 56, a Wealth Manager, was called as the first counsellor. He is also from the Tunbridge Wells Ward. He was serving as the Stake Executive Secretary at the time of his call. He and his wife Donna are the parents of 4 children and have 3 grandchildren.

Adam Hawkins 43, a property developer, was called as the 2nd counsellor and was still serving as Bishop of the Selsdon Ward at the time of his call. He had been Bishop since 2010.  He and his wife Stacey are the parents of 3 boys.

The callings and releases were carried out by Elder Clifford T Herbertson and Elder Matthieu Bennasar, visiting Area Seventies.
