London Live will air the Sunday Morning Session of the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The broadcast can be seen at 4:00 pm Sunday 8 October on Freeview 8, Sky 117, and Virgin 159 in the Greater London area.
The original session of the conference was recorded on 1 October 2023 and has been seen by millions around the world. This will be the first time that a local television station will broadcast a session of conference in the London area.
The General Conference is a semi-annual event originating at the Conference Centre in Salt Lake City, Utah (USA). Five sessions of the Conference are held and include speakers from the leadership of the Church: including the three members of the First Presidency and members of Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recognises these members of the First Presidency and The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as modern-day prophets, seers, and revelators.
In speaking of the Conference, a local leader of the church, Elder Martin J Turvey, described that “they will share insights on how to navigate today’s challenges and struggles. By understanding the doctrine and teachings of Jesus Christ it is believed that we can better love our neighbours and serve others in need around us”.
