The Times Article Challenges Common British Misconceptions

A recent article in the UK national newspaper The Times directly challenges some current misunderstandings about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The popular Book of Mormon musical, while providing the Church with greater name recognition, has also contributed to confusion about the faith. British author Malcolm Adcock addresses these topics and aims to bust the myths.

As an adherent of the faith, Malcolm Adcock works for the Church Communication Department in the Europe North Area and seeks to present factual statements of beliefs. In presenting the piece, the author believes the truth from the source will help dispel inaccurate information and stereotypes.

As well as clarifying theological beliefs, the article focuses on the Church’s position on equality among all peoples and advocacy of Freedom of Religion or Belief. Adcock says in the publication, ‘Standing shoulder to shoulder with others of all faiths and beliefs is a manifestation of our common humanity and our own Christianity.’
