Christmas Eve Singing for Local Hospice

On Christmas eve over 20 members, missionaries and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints went carol singing  to the homes around their chapel on Sheffield Road Stonegravels in Chesterfield raising over £120.00 for Ashgate Hospice.

Singers were well received by many residents, some who came out of their homes, joined in, clapped, cheered and made  requests, one of which included an impromptu performance of Happy Birthday!

The group enthusiastically sang from door to door till fingers felt like they would almost drop off from frostbite, which took just over an hour.

Bishop Mark Hamilton who sang with his family commented, "As followers of Jesus Christ we are our brother's keeper, this Christmas Eve tradition is such an enjoyable way to share the true joy and spirit of Christmas while having great fun together too. We thank everyone for their generous donations."
