Christmas Presents for Mansfield Children

In mid December 50 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered together for a special Christmas Breakfast at their chapel on Berry Hill, Mansfield; one with a difference! As a Christian church members firmly believe in reaching out to those who are less fortunate. Christmas time gave an added incentive to reach out and to donate toys to children who otherwise may not have a special time. Members and friends of the Church donated 130 presents as well as an ample supply of festive packets of biscuits and cakes. Some of the presents went to a local refuge and others were distributed by the Salvation Army.

A hearty breakfast was enjoyed while the children took part in festive activities as well as helping out with present wrapping. This gave everyone an opportunity to give rather than to receive, and did indeed inspire the true Spirit of Christmas.
