    Europe Area President called to Presidency of Seventy

    The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced May 1 that Elder Juan A. Uceda and Elder Patrick Kearon will serve in the Presidency of the Seventy, effective August 1.

      The leaders succeed Elder Donald L. Hallstrom and Elder Richard J. Maynes in the Presidency of the Seventy, who will begin new assignments on August 1.

      Elder Kearon is currently serving as president of the Europe Area. He was sustained as a General Authority Seventy on April 3, 2010.

      Elder Paul V. Johnson, currently first counsellor, will serve as president of the Europe Area, effective August 1. His first counsellor will be Elder Gary B. Sabin. Elder Massimo De Feo will serve as his second counsellor.
