Members of the Church worldwide gather in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, twice a year for General Conference. Six sessions are held every spring and fall for members to receive instruction from Church leaders. The sessions are also broadcast throughout the world in more than 80 languages. The semi-annual conference is an opportunity for faithful to hear inspirational addresses to help them become more committed followers of Jesus Christ. “To watch conference, knowing that millions of members are watching as well, gives a great feeling of unity. All the messages have only one purpose: to bring all to Christ. What greater purpose can there be?” says Chris Kleijweg, a Mormon from the Netherlands.
Speakers include members of the First Presidency, which is the highest governing body of the Church, and other inspired men and women who lead the global Church. Their messages help members face contemporary challenges with confidence and find answers to life’s difficult questions. Often, individuals and families come away from conference feeling that they “have been richly blessed,” says John Connolly, a Church member from Ireland.
Members and friends of the Church can easily watch the conference broadcast in local meetinghouses or by visiting LDS.org, where the conference is streamed live. The schedule for the six sessions of General Conference is as follows:
