Young Girls Donate craft kits to Local Hospital

Teenage girls of the Kettering congregation aged between 12 - 18 years put together 80 different handmade craft kits for children at the local Kettering General Hospital.  The kits enable children patients to participate in activities whilst receiving treatment on the children's ward and included fly catchers, mobiles, puzzles, puppets etc.

Eliane Henson, Young Women leader, commented, “The girls wanted to do something to help the children in hospital at this time of year and after speaking with the nurses from the children’s ward it was decided to make these craft kits which the children can easily put together”

Sister Christina Godding, junior paediatrics nurse on duty, was extremely impressed with the craft kits which were complete and ready for the children to make up.  Around 15 of the young women put them together during the weekly youth night activities and presented them to the hospital in time for Christmas.
