Stockport MP and local Councillor Attend Family Fun Day

The Stockport congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held its annual Family Fun Day with MP Mary Robinson and councillor Wendy Wild.  Bishop Richard Shuttleworth remarked, “Our aim is to open our doors to families and individuals and to just have fun.” The fun day was considered a success with more than 150 congregation members in attendance as well as over 150 members of the local community. Activities included visits from the local fire brigade, a bouncy assault course, face painting, basketball competitions and boules, etc.

Councillor Wendy Wild, Deputy Leader of Stockport MBC commented, “Events such as the family fun day are at the heart of our communities, bringing everyone together to enjoy an afternoon of fun that families and friends can share in. Thank you again for the invitation.”

Mary Robinson, MP, said, “I had a great time at the family fun day, and it was wonderful to see so many people from across the community come together to enjoy a day out. Events like this really are the backbone of our community, providing a place for children to play and for everyone to catch up with friends and meet new people. Thank you to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Davenport for organising such a great day, and I look forward to supporting more events like this in the future.”

Representing the Mayor, Deputy Mayor Walter Brett loved the event and offered gratitude on behalf of the Mayor for holding such an event and opening it to Stockport residents.
